When Nathan's daughter Allie asks for a sleepover, Elizabeth offers to bake cupcakes and help Nathan manage all the girls. But the excitement is tempered by the arrival of Nathan's estranged father, Archie Grant an ex-con and former gambler who wants to meet his granddaughter. Meanwhile Faith returns home with a dilemma. She's been offered a prominent position at the hospital in Hamilton, but Carson thinks she should study to be a doctor.
