The story is about the difficult life of young mechanics working on an irrigation canal in the steppe. Each of them has his own problems: a long-standing enmity, a prison past, family problems, and a complicated love for a single mother with a child. But the difficult remote work in the steppe forces everyone to change their outlook on life.
